Developing 1v1 and Fast Break from the Middle
This soccer drill focuses on practising defending and attacking skills in 1v1 situation and also emphasises developing transition and preparing fast break. The exercise improves cooperation between 2 players in counter attack.
Organisation
Players and equipment are arranged as shown.
There are 2 teams, players are identified with different colours. The sticks symbolize the defending lines and 2 squares can be found in front of them where 1v1 situations evolve.
The wing forwards or attackers position themselves by the blue cones and they move inward from there in the right time.
The coach decides whether the players perform in all positions or the central players only practise 1v1 and the wingers, attackers develop the cutting in and finishing.
After the action players run back to their starting position.
Description and Graphics
Soccer drill starts by the coach playing the ball to one of the players in the middle.
Then he accelerates with the ball and tries to win the 1v1 situation against the defender and finishes the action.
After shooting the defender gets a ball and he becomes attacker.
When the defender tackles in 1v1 he dribbles the ball out of the square fast and performs an accurate pass to the winger cutting in. The winger's right tempo of movement without ball and the defender's correct weight of pass are very important.
