Organisation

Set up an area approximately 32–35 meters wide by 35-40 meters long.
Mark two wide zones on each flank as shown in the diagram. In these zones there are four crossing positions in which the joker players are placed without balls.
For optimal execution, the drill requires a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 16 players.
The demonstration described involves 16 players.
The exercise can be adapted for a different number of players, but in that case, organizational adjustments must be made accordingly.
A minimum of two goalkeepers should be involved in the drill.

Description and Graphics

This exercise involves four teams of four players each. At any given time, two teams play against each other in a 4v4 setup, one team acts as Joker players, and one team rests.
The game is played as a 4v4 match, but each team also has two supporting players (Jokers) positioned in wide zones on the attacking half. These jokers move only in the designated wide channels and act as target players who can deliver crosses into the box. The playing teams must build up and combine centrally or in the half-spaces, but they are only allowed to score from a cross delivered by a joker.
Jokers are not allowed to participate in the central combination play. Once they receive the ball, they are required to deliver a cross within two or three touches. Players from the central 4v4 zone cannot enter the wide channels, neither when attacking nor defending.
The defending team must apply high pressure on the ball. If they win possession near the opponent's goal, they can immediately attack and attempt to score directly. However, if they regain possession deeper in their own half, they must again score through a wide-area cross.
This exercise focuses on combination play, effective crossing, target-area movement, pressing, and positional discipline, while also ensuring high intensity and structured team rotations.
