Beat the Defender by Dribbling or a Wall Pass (Free)
This soccer game focuses on developing initiative attacking attitude, dribbling skills and cooperation of two attackers.
The exercise also aims to improve soccer specific endurance and defending technique.

Organisation
Flat cones mark two equal squares 12-16 meters apart.
The exercise requires a minimum of 5 players and it can be performed with a maximum of 7 players.
Players change their positions and roles continuously during the game in alphabetical order.
The coach positions himself outside the practice area between the two squares with balls.
In case the defender wins the ball or the ball is out of the field, the coach restarts the progression by passing a ball to the next-coming player in the middle.
Description and Graphics
This competitive soccer exercise is a continuos one. Players perform the task to both directions without an interruption.
The attacking, defending and supporting roles are continuously changed according to the positions. In Position A the players have defending role. In Positions D and B the players implement supporting movements to create a wall passing option for Players in Positions E and C. Players in Positions E and C have attacking role, they have to beat the defender and dribble the ball out of the square between the two cones as shown.
Defender only gets a point if he touches or wins the ball. Points are counted and summarized after the exercise during the resting period.
Player A dribbles the ball (1) towards Player C and delivers a sharp pass (2) to him. Player A sprints into the area to be able to defend in the box and touch or win the ball. Player C has a free choice to beat the defender (Player A). In this situation Player C feints and goes out from the area between the two cones as shown.
Player in Position C can beat the defender (Player A) with the help of Player B by performing a wallpass in a 2v1 situation.
In this action the defender wins the ball or the ball is out of the field, the coach serves a new one (6) to the next coming player. The exercise is performed continuously without an interruption. Player in the middle dribbles (7) to the other side and the exercise continues with the same roles.
Players in Positions E and C have a free choice to beat the defender (1v1 or 2v1). Players in Positions D and B must create a supporting position in each sitution.
Coaching points
To be able to do this small sided soccer drill successfully games should be played on an adequate area for different age groups. We always have to consider the players' technical skills and their cognitive abilities. Besides this the quality of the pitch is also very important. If it's necessary we can change the size of the area during the game.
