Competitive Ball Possession
This small sided soccer exercise focuses on developing ball possession, endurance, quick decision making, orientation and competitive attitude.
Organisation
Two different color big cones (same numbered) are used to mark the playing area. Cones are placed in turn as shown.
Players are split into two teams. The color of the teams are the same as the cones.
The size of the area must be adequate to the number of players and the abilities of the given age group.
The load of this exercise is unregulated, so the resting time must be considered after every finished possession.
Description and Graphics
Teams try to keep the ball by combination play.
Players in possession have special roles. They can knock over their big cones, or they can set up the other team's cones after every successful pass.
The aim of the game is to knock over all of their own cones. If it's succeeded, they are the winner of possession.
The coaches must take care that, the players can knock over or set the cones up only after the accurate passes.
When the ball is out the coach restarts the game immediately by passing a new ball into the area.
