Penetrating Pass in a 3v2 Game
This small sided soccer game focuses on practising combinations and possession to find penetrating passes.
The exercise also helps develop awareness, movements without the ball and tactical capability.
Organisation
Cones are used to mark a playing area divided into 3 zones as shown. The size of the playing field must be considered and created adequately to the given age-group.
4 players are identified as attackers and other two as defenders.
In the middle zone a 2v2 situation evolves, plus 1-1 is placed into the two zones on both sides to help maintaining the possession.
Players change their positions periodically.
Description and Graphics
The role of the attackers is to play the ball from one of the sides to the other with a combinative play. Players in the end zones can move inside to help creating overnumbered situations in the middle. Attackers have to find the deep passing channels by continuous movements and combinations.
Defenders try to close the deep passing channels and intercept the ball. When defenders win the ball the attackers restart the small sided game.
