Organisation
Players are split into two teams. They change their roles and positions continuously during the game.
Set up one small goal (3x2 or 5x2) and two starting positions next to it as shown.
Place a pole in front of the goal (8-15 meters) and a line to mark the heading 'zone' 5-6 meters apart from the goal line.
Distances should be created according to the given age-group.
Balls are placed next to the goal on both sides.
Description and Graphics
All of the players hold a ball in both starting positions next to the goals. One opponent is positioned to the 'heading line' 5-6 meters apart from the goal. The next-coming player (opponent) is standing at the pole.
The exercise starts at the coach's command and it continues without an interruption until the coach whistles.
At the start one player is standing in the goal and acts as a keeper. He can save with his hands too. The first player of the other team in the starting position throw his ball for a header to his team-mate, then he sprints to bypass the pole and asks for a ball from the next-coming player of his own team. The players should throw the ball to their team-mates to be able to head it behind the 'heading line'. Right after the header, the player sprints into the goal to try to save the opponent's header.
After the keeper position the player collects the ball and runs to the end of the row.
The aim is to score as many goals as possible and save as many headers of the opponent as they can.
