Position Specific Development - Finishes
This complex exercise focuses on the post specific development of the players.
The tasks emphasize developing the first touch, control the ball, shooting technique, and finishes.
Organisation
10-16 players take part in the exercise, they are placed according to their positions.
The tasks are implemented by central defenders, midfield players, wingers and fullbacks.
The wingers and fullbacks can change on the same side after each action.
The midfield players can rotate after the actions.
The central defenders stay their positions. (They can change with the midfield players periodically.)
Two variations can be seen.
The tasks are nearly the same, the only difference in Variation 2 is the central defenders have more roles.
Description and Graphics
The players have to make different tasks which are belong to their positions. One action is executed by 5 balls.
For example:
- The wingers control the ball from the air, dribble in zig-zag movement between the mannequins, shoot on goal, arrive into the goal area and finish.
- The central defenders practice the long aerial balls, and defend in the penalty area.
- The midfield players control the ball from the air, dribble in zig-zag movement between the mannequins shoot on goal, they arrive into the goal area and finish. Besides they practice executing of the lobbed balls.
- The fullbacks practice the crosses from different positions.
