Organisation
Players, cones, balls and sticks are arranged as shown.
Small cones are used to create an area, which divided into two equal squares.
Distances must be considered and created adequate to the given age-group.
Place two goalkeepers into the goals and name two teams with different colours.
The players are placed in A-B-C positions and they change in alphabetical order continuously. The players of positions C (3-6) are located in the two squares, as shown. Since in these positions there are more players (3-6), before the first action the coach determines the order by numbering, so the players know that, who must go to the position A. Of course it becomes automatic, when the process goes on and the players arrive from position B continuously.
This soccer speed exercise is a competitive one, the players compete each other in pairs.
Teams can collect points.
For example, that player gets 2 points, who implements the task faster, thus finishes the progression by a shooting sooner than his opponent.
Besides, the players can collect plus points by scoring goals during the competition, so the one, who is the faster and scores, gets 3 points.
The winner is the team, which has more points at the end of the exercise.
The competition is performed in both directions, so the players practise turning in different directions and shooting with the weaker foot.
Four variations can be found.
This soccer speed drill must be executed after an accurate and intensive warm up.
