Circle Race for Kids
This soccer speed exercise emphasizes developing speed, balance, coordination and ball familiarity.
Organisation
Flat cones are used to mark a circle.
The size of the circle must be adequate to the given age-group.
For the optimal organization, six players take part in the exercise.
Five players are the attackers, one player is the defender, who is identified with a different coloured bib.
The attackers stand in a circle, the defender is located out of the area.
Variations: 2
- One of the attackers holds a ball in his hands.
- One of the attackers has a ball at his feet.
Description and Graphics
At the coach's signal the attackers pass the ball to each other in round, the defender runs around outside the circle and he tries to reach the ball.
The game lasts two rounds.
If the defender succeeds in reaching the ball, he touches the given attacker and he wins the game.
When the attackers can pass the ball to each other fast, so the defender cannot reach that during the two rounds, the attackers win.
- In Variation 1 the attackers throw the ball and they pass to each other by bouncing that.
- In Variation 2 the attackers pass to each other by their feet and they keep the ball on the ground.
