Speed Race with Dribbling Emphasis
This functional soccer drill emphasises developing the agility, change of direction, speed and dribbling at speed. The exercise also aims to practise the deceptive and feinting movements without the ball.

Organisation
Players, cones, balls and sticks are arranged as shown.
The distance of sticks must be adequate to the age group.
Red cones are used to create a square with a starting point (white cone) in the middle, from where the attackers start.
Two opposite sidelines of the square are the defending lines where the defenders can move laterally.
Name 2 teams and identify them with different colours (red and white now).
This soccer speed exercise is a competitive one, the players compete each other in pairs.
Players change their positions in a determined way continuously.
Two variations can be seen.
This soccer speed drill must be executed after an accurate and intensive warm up.
Description and Graphics
The soccer drill always starts for the coach's sign.
The red and white attacker compete with each other, they must execute the different tasks as fast as they can.
The defenders can only move on the defending line laterally and they can't hold or grab the opponent attackers, they can only touch their body and arm or slow them with movement.
The faster attacker gets a point, but both players can win an extra point, if they beat the defender without being able to touch.
The winner is the team, which has more points at the end of the exercise.
Of course the accuracy of movements and the dribbling are also very important.
