Play on Narrow Pitch to Emphasise 1v1 - Finish Fast Under Pressure
The soccer game places emphasis on practising the right solutions of the 1v1 game situations and helps the players to become confident and initiative in man to man struggle. This is a very effective soccer exercise, which can be also adopted as a main game of other 1v1 training sessions in general.
Organisation
Cones are used to create a pitch, which contains two shooting areas, a playing field between them and two penalty areas. Besides, both teams have a defending line.
The defensive team's players can try to stop the opponent's player in possession to this line, so the defenders can't step into the shooting area while defending.
The soccer game is played by 16 field players and 2 goalkeepers. Identify them with different colours.
If it’s necessary we can change the size of the area during the game.
Description and Graphics
8v8 free game is played in the narrow playing field. The aim of the game is to emphasise 1v1 situations and practise the finishing under pressure. Goal can only be scored from the shooting area.
The attacking team can only break into the shooting area in two ways:
The player in possession wins 1v1 against the defender, dribbles into the area and shoots.
In the other situation the player in possession wins 1v1, then performs a penetrating pass to an other attacker.
On the whole the attacking team can break into the shooting area after 1v1 or 1v1 and 1 pass plus only.
The defenders can always tackle and intercept the passes in front of the defending line.
Three game situations can be seen.
