Possession - Depth Play - Penetrating Passes
This soccer training program focuses on developing the possession, the depth play and performing accurate penetrating passes in the right time. The emphasis is also laid on the cooperation of players, soccer specific endurance and speed of play.
Only field players take part in the training, goalkeepers work apart with their coach or used as field players. For the optimal organisation, 16 - 18 field players can be used in the training. In this case they can work in two groups in the warm up passing, two or three groups in the exercise 1, there are some resting players in exercise 2 and the number of players is optimal for exercise 3. Of course the session works with other number of players, however the coach must really care of changing players during the games and the resting time.
Warm up
The players change their positions in round. (P1-P6, P6-P5, P5-P4 etc.) They perform the exercise to both directions.
This soccer passing drill starts when P1 makes a wall pass (1-2) with P2 then performs a sharp, low pass (3) to P3. He lays the ball back (4) to P2, who moves towards him in angle. P2 plays the ball to P4 (5) with one touch, who passes it (6) to P3 and moves towards P5. P3 makes an accurate, sharp pass (7) to P5. He lays the ball off (8) to P4, then moves to create a supporting angle. P4 performs a low pass to P6, who makes a one-two (10-11) with P5. After this combination P6 receives the ball and dribbles it to the starting position.
Number of players: 7-9
